Butt plugs for beginners
We are often asked about butt plugs for customers who haven’t tried a plug before, so if you are considering a butt plug for either yourself or your loved one for the very first time, read on for some useful tips.
Beginner butt plugs are often, but not always smaller than regular butt plugs, and novices usually choose the shapes that don’t really taper. Some butt plugs may start slim at their tip but taper out quite wide at their base, making them unsuitable for beginners.
When choosing a butt plug, will you wear it for long time or just use it during sex play? If choosing to wear for longer, you may prefer to go with a silicone butt plug, or stainless steel kind where the material will withstand the demands you are going to put on it.
One really good recommendation would be the Njoy small butt plug, or the steel jewelled plug (also known as a Rosebud plug) both of which are small and made of stainless steel for long term wear (could be an hour or more).
Or, you could try one of the anal trainer kits, which are great for building your way up to a bigger butt plug from something very slim. You could try the vanilla anal training kit or the Wriggle Fingers butt plug set, which is a set of graduated, finger sized butt plugs that are good for warming up and building up as your confidence with the butt plugs grows.
A final word. Don’t – ever – be tempted to forget the lube! Anal lubricant or a good silicone lubricant is the most important factor in making anal sex more enjoyable, so browse our lubricants department and check out the anal lubricant that will suit your budget.
