How To Insert Affiliate Code Into Your Web Pages

For information on how t build affiliate links please see the How To Build Affiliate Links page.

In order to place affiliate links on your web pages you must be able to insert HTML onto the page, for example this may be through editing the files through FTP, using a program such as Dreamweaver or by using a online editor for your blog. If you are unsure of how to do any of these then contact your hosting company.

In the following example I will be updating a file on my website using FTP and a plain text editor:

  1. Sign in to the affiliate program and generate a link as detailed on the How To Build Affiliate Links page.
  2. For this example I have created the following link, which is a plain text link to the safe sex category: <a href=”http://www.passiononline.co.uk/shop/safe-sex-c-26.html?ref=297&cPath=26&affiliate_banner_id=1″ target=”_blank”>Safe Sex</a>
  3. Copy the link to your clip board (i.e. right click and ‘copy’)
  4. Edit the web page you want to insert the link into (either by downloading a local copy through FTP or directly opening it through your text editor)
  5. Paste (i.e. right click and ‘paste’) the link where you want it to appear on your web page.
  6. Save your web page (either by uploading the local copy through FTP or saving it directly through your text editor)
  7. Point your browser to this web page and your affiliate link will now be present and clickable!

Remember, if you ever get stuck or need assistance with any part of the affiliate program you can contact us directly using the affiliate contact page.
